Kuveyt'te tasarlanan geometrik formlu cami

Babnimnim Tasarım Stüdyosu geleneksel İslam motiflerini çağdaş formlarla birleştiren bir cami tasarladı.


Kuveyt, Al-Masayel'in merkezinde yer alan Mamluki Lancet Camii, yerel topluluk için manevi ve işlevsel bir alan oluşturarak ziyaretçilerini büyük kemerli bir kapıdan içeri alıyor.


Cami, her biri beş vakite karşılık gelen beş kütleden oluşan bir düzende tasarlanıyor. Mimari form, merkezi yarım kubbeye doğru yükseldikçe kademeli olarak dönen ve dönüşen beş kütle tarafından tanımlanıyor. Kıbleye yönelen alt kütle, inancın temeli ve kıble ile hizalanmayı simgelerken, araziyle hizalanan üst kütle caminin çevresiyle bağlantısını temsil ediyor. Araya giren üç kütle ise dinamik bir şekilde birleşerek yukarı doğru yükseliyor.


2023 yılında tasarlanan ve ilhamını mukarnastan alan yapı, sütunsuz ve kesintisiz iç mekanıyla ibadet esnasında kullanıcıların hizalanmasını kolaylaştırmayı amaçlıyor.

Babnimnim Design Studio has designed a mosque that combines traditional Islamic motifs with contemporary forms.


Located in the center of Al-Masayel, Kuwait, the Mamluki Lancet Mosque welcomes visitors through a large arched doorway, creating a spiritual and functional space for the local community.


The mosque is designed in an arrangement of five masses, each corresponding to five times of prayer. The architectural form is defined by five masses that gradually rotate and transform as they rise towards the central half dome. The lower mass, oriented towards the qibla, symbolizes the foundation of faith and alignment with the qibla, while the upper mass, aligned with the land, represents the connection of the mosque with its surroundings. The three intervening masses dynamically merge and rise upwards.


Designed in 2023 and inspired by the muqarnas, the building aims to facilitate the alignment of the users during worship with its column-free and uninterrupted interior space.
