Eski Camden Belediyesi Ek Binası, 2019 yılında @orms_architects tarafından ikonik bir otele dönüştürüldü!

Yapının renovasyonunda baş danışman olan Orms, proje kapsamında Shawn Hausman Design ve Archer Humphryes ile birlikte çalıştı.

Projenin öne çıkan özellikleri arasında en üste eklenen üç yeni kat ve konukları doğrudan onuncu kattaki restorana taşıyan yeni dış asansör yer alıyor. Siyah paslanmaz çelik ve camla kaplanan uzantının formu, ana binanın alt katından esinlenilerek oluşturuluyor. Zemin katta resepsiyon, bar ve restoran yer alırken, üst kattaki odalar açıklıklarla vurgulanıyor.

Dönüşümün merkezinde sürdürülebilirlik yer aldığından, tasarım boyunca öncelikli olarak yenilenebilirlik ilkeleri uygulanıyor. Projede, RIBA Climate Challenge'ın 2030 yılında teslim edilecek binalar için belirlediği minimum somutlaştırılmış karbon hedeflerinde %60'lık bir iyileşme sağladığı da belirtiliyor.

A 1974 brutalist building overlooking King's Cross @thestandardlondon

The former Camden Council Annex was transformed into an iconic hotel by @orms_architects in 2019!

Orms was the lead consultant on the renovation and worked with Shawn Hausman Design and Archer Humphryes on the project.

Highlights of the project include three new floors added at the top and a new exterior lift that transports guests directly to the restaurant on the tenth floor. Clad in black stainless steel and glass, the form of the extension is inspired by the lower level of the main building. The ground floor houses the reception, bar and restaurant, while the upstairs rooms are emphasised by openings.

With sustainability at the heart of the transformation, renewable principles are applied throughout the design. It is also stated that the project achieves a 60% improvement in the minimum embodied carbon targets set by the RIBA Climate Challenge for buildings to be delivered in 2030.
