Baroğun etkileyici atmosferi: Asam Kilisesi

Barok tarzda tasarlanan Asam Kilisesi (Asamkirche), Münih'te yer alıyor. Kilise, 1746'da Cosmas ve Egid Asam kardeşler tarafından tasarlanıyor. Özel kullanımda inşa edilen ve bir süre halka kapalı tutulan kilise, kent ahalisinin ısrarı üzerine halka açılıyor.

Bu ihtişamlı kilisede; freskler, alçı figürler ve yağlı boya resimler öne çıkıyor. İçeride, dev sütunlarla çevrelenmiş ve diz çökmüş bir Aziz John figürünün yer aldığı kapı, en dikkat çeken kısımlardan oluyor. Kilise, barok stilinin hem en güzel örneklerinden biri hem de birtakım aykırı detaylarıyla bu stili bozan, kendine has bir yapı olmasıyla da dikkat çekiyor.

İkinci Dünya Savaşı'ndan koro kısmı büyük hasar gören kilise, 70'li yıllarda restore edilerek günümüze kadar ulaşmayı başarıyor.

The Asam Church (Asamkirche), designed in Baroque style, is located in Munich. The church was built in 1746 It is designed by the brothers Cosmas and Egid Asam. The church, which was built for private use and kept closed to the public for a while, was opened to the public upon the insistence of the people of the city.

In this magnificent church; frescoes, plaster figures and oil paintings stand out. Inside, the doorway with a kneeling figure of St John surrounded by giant columns is one of the most striking parts. The church is not only one of the most beautiful examples of the baroque style, but also a unique building that disrupts this style with some incongruous details.

The church, whose choir section was severely damaged during the Second World War, was restored in the 70s and has survived to the present day.
